Northwest Anatolia (Turkey), c. 134 x 99 cm, about 1980, with c. 3.8 mil. knots, it was sold to its current owner 25 years ago as an exquisite oriental carpet, today the record for smaller pieces is already three times as high, nonetheless this piece is a carpet of the highest quality, the pattern (apart from the central medallion) is arranged with extreme finesse along diagonal mirror images, especially worth mentioning are the motifs executed with great precision in exceptionally harmonious colours, on both sides partly knotted woven finish with artistically knotted warp threads, cartouche with signature of the workshop at the upper left weave border, excellent condition.
